Kyle C. Mallinak

Everyday Americans still value things like honesty and good faith when dealing with others. Unfortunately, those in power often employ less honorable standards when dealing with employees, consumers or clients. I joined Branstetter, Stranch & Jennings because of its commitment to helping people assert their legal rights and its determination to promote accountability within the legal system.

Kyle is an experienced litigator in the areas of complex civil litigation, business litigation and administrative law. Before joining BS&J in 2022, he spent four years as an assistant attorney general in Colorado and Tennessee, where he litigated disciplinary proceedings against healthcare professionals and oversaw investigations against unlicensed healthcare facilities. He previously served as a judicial clerk for the Hon. Robert E. Payne in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and for the Hon. Eugene E. Siler in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.

Mr. Mallinak is a native of Kingsport, Tennessee. He obtained his B.A. in international studies from the University of South Carolina in 2010, where he was named a McNair Scholar. He earned his J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2013, where he received a Dean’s Scholarship and served as an editor for the Virginia Law Review. While at Virginia, Kyle received an award from the National Association of Women Lawyers for his work in securing the constitutional rights of female military service members.

Kyle lives in Nashville with his wife and two black cats. In his free time, he studies the political views and writings of the Founding Fathers.
