Nashville Scene Highlights Construction Industry Safety Concerns

Branstetter, Stranch & Jennings (BS&J) attorney Karla Campbell spoke to the Nashville Scene about the region’s booming construction industry and the concern of cutting costs at the expense of job safety. Campbell is part of the legal team representing a family who filed a civil lawsuit against local contractors following the June 2020 death of their 16-year-old son at a hotel construction site. The teenager was employed by the lawsuit’s defendants. 

The lawsuit was filed on July 22, 2020, in Davidson County Chancery Court. Defendants include D.F. Chase, Inc.; EX Distributing, Inc.; EZ Distributing Installation, Inc.; and Stover & Sons Contractors, Inc. The case file was transferred to Davidson County Circuit Court on Sept. 22, 2020.
